Energy Commission Webinar: Proposed 2022 Energy Code Nonresidential High-Performance Envelope

California Energy Commission (CEC) staff will conduct a series of workshops to present and discuss proposed changes to the 2022 California Energy Code (Energy Code). The goal of these workshops is to solicit feedback from concerned or affected members of the public before the start of the formal rulemaking process.

Proposed 2022 Energy Code Nonresidential High-Performance Envelope

October 20, 2020
9:00 a.m.

This webinar will include staff presentations on proposed new changes in the 2022 Energy Code to improve the performance of building envelopes in nonresidential buildings. Proposed changes for windows, insulation, and cool roofs will work interactively to achieve high performance building envelopes for both newly constructed buildings and building alterations. There will be opportunities for public comment.

Specific measures and topics of discussion include, but are not limited to:

  • High performance windows
  • Cool roofs: low-sloped
  • Cool roofs: steep-sloped
  • Roof alterations
  • Opaque envelope requirements
  • Air barrier verification
