Comment Letters

The CASE Team dockets Comment Letters to offer targeted context and explanations related to specific items in the California Energy Code. They are developed in response to questions or feedback from stakeholders and code implementers, and to share research results in support of a minor change, or  provide information that may address a proposal made by another stakeholder in the public process.

Because these Comment Letters address narrow, well-defined issues—typically involving clarification rather than substantive changes—they do not require a full CASE Report. Limited analysis, data collection, and policy recommendations are included.

The purpose of these Comment Letters is to improve the Energy Code in ways that do not require a cost effectiveness analysis, address fellow stakeholder concerns, and ensure consistent interpretation and application of the standards.

The CEC encourages public participation in its proceedings.  Anyone can provide written comments to the rulemaking docket. Instructions for submitting comments can be found on workshop notices. Visit the CEC’s website for more information.
