The California Energy Commission (CEC) is seeking public comment on the Restructured 2025 Energy Code. This document was created as an informational resource in response to feedback to align the structure of the Energy Code with the rest of the California Building Standards Code. This document reorganizes the adopted regulatory language to group related requirements together and renumbers sections to simplify navigation. Minor editorial changes were made to support the new structure without affecting regulatory requirements.
Please note that the Restructured 2025 Energy Code is not formally adopted and is not an official regulatory document. It is provided as a public resource to gather feedback that may guide future Energy Code updates.
The CEC encourages interested parties to provide comments on the Restructured 2025 Energy Code. Members of the public may submit comments to Docket #24-BSTD-05 regarding this matter until May 26, 2026. Written comments and technical inquiries may be submitted by email to [email protected].
