Nonresidential Reduced Infiltration
This CASE Report for reduced infiltration will introduce air tightness elements to the California building energy code since building air leakage testing is currently not a part of mandatory California building codes. This will help demonstrate compliance with the code by investigating two submeasures: air leakage testing and vestibule air leakage. -
Single Family Passive House Prescriptive Pathway
This CASE Report will investigate and develop an alternative prescriptive compliance path for homes certified under the Passive House Standard. The intent of this research measure is to determine if buildings built to the Passive House Standard could potentially satisfy requirements under the 2022 California Energy Code, and could buildings certified under the Passive House Standard qualify as equivalent to the prescriptive requirements for residential buildings. -
Nonresidential High Performance Envelope
This CASE Report for high performance envelope consists of five different submeasures: opaque envelope performance, roof alterations, thermal bridging, cool roofs, and high performance windows. -
Multifamily High Performance Envelope
This CASE Report will reduce area-weighted U-factor for the thermal envelope in multifamily buildings and will include the following five submeasures. -
Single Family Energy Savings and Process Improvements for Additions and Alterations
This CASE Report will look at various aspects of how existing homes are currently handled by the Title 24, Part 6 Standards. The goal is to, where appropriate, identify unrealized energy savings opportunities, as well as streamline the process to achieve greater code compliance in alterations and additions. The CASE Report will include three submeasures.
